Windows into the Interior
Essay and Memoir are my way of looking into my personal story, getting inside and walking around. As I write, the past plays out in front of me through my fingers on the keyboard. I learn who I am when I see the words on the page. Why I need to know the person inside this skin is a mystery, but then mystery surrounds our lives and I’ll live with it. Lately I’ve been inspired to do some freewriting, scribbling, doodling, clustering phrases. Those techniques seem to free the process when the story doesn’t want to flow.
